i am a junior right now and will begin doing research with a professor at uchicago in a few weeks. First of all, do you think this will help me with college admissions stuff, or is it pretty common? second, will it matter if i really want to go to northwestern, but worked with a uchicago professor during my high school years? thanks for any help

i dunno if its common or not. Research does help, it counts as a job (if ur getting payed) and depending on what field ur goin into, it counts as experience. Also, if you write a research paper you can submit it with some of ur colelge apps. And if ur professor likes you, u may get a kick ass rec as well.

Good luck
