So in the package they sent to admitted students, there was something that said that we have to maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA and no significant drops in grades.........so.....what if we were almost straight A students, but we got C's in senior year...but was about the 3.0 mark?

as long as you stay above 3.0 you can still come to UCLA, if you go below the 3.0 and have more than 2 or something Cs then they take away the admission...

are you serious? I got three C's in my three AP classes and three A's in my CP classes............sh1t..

Do we at least get a chance to explain the drop in our grades?

Time to stop slacking and pull up the grades! I don't think you can explain reasons under any conditions .

I know that you can get away with that for lower UCs (seen it happen) but definitely not at UCLA>

Well, I went through depression this year...it was beyond my control.......shouldn't we be able to give some explanation??

I'm not sure, but my gut response is no. You still have time to pull up your grades. I believe the 3.0 average is for UC courses taken during your whole senior year.

PM me if you're still interested in a response; I can ask around.

Hi BoelterHall,

Thanks for your willingness to help! I don't want to bother you just for me, so I'll just try calling the Admissions Office!

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm pretty sure you can explain. I knew I did bad my last semester. I explained when I emailed admission.

Isn't 3 Cs + 3 As still a 3.0 unweighted?

Also, a person I knew got a D+ in his Calculus BC class 2nd semester. However, his UC Berkeley admission was not rescinded. And I don't think he had any particular reason for getting that grade other than laziness.
