Can anyone enlighten me as to what college (preferably in California, private/public) has the best architecture programs?
Also, is there anything that I should know before entering any of said colleges? Describing the college experience and sharing some wisdom with me would be great, I need all the help I can get D:

there is not a necessarily ‘best’ school but for California undergrad:

CalPoly SLO
USC
CCoA

Hmmmm…is there anything more you can tell me about why you recommend those three?

USC and CalPoly SLO are 5 year BArch programs. UC Berkely is good but is a 4+2 program. My son is in the BArch program at USC (we live in Chicago area). He loves the program.

could you clarify on what those terms mean, such as 4+2 and BArch (but I assume that means bachelor’s), and why one is better than the other?

4+2 is a B.A. or B.S. then MArch. This is if you’re unsure if you actually want to do architecture as an undergrad.
If you’re absolutely sure, BArch is a 5 year professional degree that lets you start work earlier.

You need to have either a BArch or an MArch to work as an architect.

Oh thanks, I’m absolutely sure I want to do architecture, so I should look for colleges that offer BArch. Anyone with experience in majoring in architecture at any college like to describe their experience there?

I was an architecture major at USC’s B.Arch program until recently; It’s intense, but the instructors know what they’re doing. Everyone here has a good grasp of design, and you’ll become close friends with those in your studio section. As long as you manage your time well, and don’t overload yourself with extra work, you’ll be fine/
