High school seniors 2011- who else has gotten in?

RL2011, Congratulations!!! Roll Tide!

What is the indication online under “Check Admission Application Status” when the student has been accepted? My daughter’s looks the same, no indication that she has been accepted, however further down on the menu using “Submit Freshman Enrollment Deposit” option, there is a “congratulations you’ve been admitted” message. Is that the first indication of admittance?

Hi FloridaMom11 from another Florida Mom! From what I have read on this board, I believe you are correct, that is the first indication of acceptance. So, congratulations to your daughter!

thats what the admissions counselor told me when i found out i was accepted! supposedly they send you a letter in the mail a couple days later. thats going on the fridge! haha

Yes…that link wouldn’t even work if you weren’t accepted. If it’s a link that works, you’re good!

That is the first sign of being accepted…when that link works.

D was accepted today! She’s at school of course, so she won’t see my text for another couple hours, but she’ll be SO excited. We can’t wait for our visit on the 11th. M2CK, we’ll be sure to send an update to Jami to start planning our itinerary for the day! This is her first acceptance out of all of her schools. BTW … the myBama “link” that M2CK discussed above was not even visible on our status screen until after the decision was made which must have changed her status on the system allowing it to be both viewed and clicked. Good luck everyone, and I’m sure we’ll meet many of you on the 11th.

Congrats!!!

That’s what I thought…I didn’t think the link was present.

I was hoping DD would have heard something by now. Her transcript was sent Sept. 20 and apps and scores back in August. She has sent an email to her regional rep, so hopefully she’ll find out if there is a snag somewhere. Her mybama page shows nothing meaningful that we can see. Mainly, she is wanting to secure her place for housing. Hope we’ll have some news soon.

hmm…just got in

(very) coincidentally, the regional counselor is coming to my school tomorrow…i think she scheduled it yesterday night lol

^juniebug, I’d probably make a phone call if I were in your shoes. It doesn’t seem right to me that it would take so long. I’m wondering if something was possibly lost or misplace in the process. Good luck!

I’m in at Pitt Psu and Drexel!

^…and alabama?

@SimpleLife, DD’s guidance counselor called yesterday and straightened it out. Our high school had gotten a confirmation post card that the transcript package had been received, but it evidently was lost. So GC faxed another and I expect all will be resolved soon. The woman he spoke with was very apologetic.

^^^

Oh good!

So, keep your eyes on MyBama…sounds like acceptance will occur quickly! They’ll use the faxed copy knowing that the “real transcripts” will show up at some point…LOL

^I’m glad to hear that, juniebug! I THOUGHT something had to have gone wrong … shouldn’t have taken so long to hear back. Very good.

D applied early and was accepted in August to College of Business. We received a letter for the $1500 automatic scholarship but as an O-O-S student, that wouldn’t be enough to allow her to go. Her weighted GPA was 4.2 but SAT M&R 1240 (1870 with writing but UA doesn’t factor that in for scholarships). She loved the campus and the people. She filled out the online schol application. When do people usually hear back on that?

I think dept scholarships are awarded sometime in Feb or a bit later since students have until Dec 1st to apply for those and those apps probably don’t get reviewed until after school reopens in January.

I do think your D has a good chance for more awards.

Thank you … I need more patience … I would love to know now!

My daughter was accepted this morning! She applied on Oct. 25th, had her transcripts and score in on Nov. 2nd and was accepted on Nov. 4th. The whole process only took 10 days!!! That is just amazing to me, ROLL TIDE!

Update: DD’s mybama page is now showing her accepted! She is writing the honors essay right now. This is her third acceptance, and each one has been exciting. So glad she doesn’t have to wait til spring. We are going to a dinner hosted by a regional rep next week, but I was wondering if there will be any invitations to visit the campus again. We will definitely want to spend some more time down there before she makes the big decision.
