Basketball is the largest by far. They actually televise the basketball tournament on PBS (in a state with only two cities with TV stations). My high school used to be really intense when we had a good team.

At our school, last year 10 different male athletes qualified for Spring and Winter track nationals, yet still 90% of funding goes to our 3-5 football team.

Oh and btw, my school (Eden Prairie, in the white in the picture) is home to the first American taken in the NHL draft (16 by the Wild) Nick Leddy. We won that game 3-0.

Basketball and soccer at my school. Basketball and football in the whole state. Come on, it’s Indiana, you can’t expect basketball to NOT be huge.

I live in Minnesota and my entire town, even though we do have a pretty good hockey team, thinks hockey is lame. Our losing football and basketball teams still get more attention/fans.
