What grade are you in?

It’s simple. Here are the exams you need to take:

Either the SAT or the ACT. (Aim for a 2300 or 34)
Take the SAT II Math Level 2 (Aim for 780+)
Take the SAT II in either Physics, Chemistry, or Biology (Aim for a 780+)
You’ll also have to take the TOEFL.

I would suggest you expand your list of colleges and focus on schools where you have a great chance of getting in and doing well. There are hundreds of schools that potentially can be a good fit for you. Rather than focusing on schools that are “famous” look for schools where you fit in. Schools where you feel at home. Schools with strong physics programs. Schools with a strong international presence.

If you are a rising senior and you don’t already have SAT/ACT scores at or above the 75th percentile (to go with top grades and a challenging course load) plus English fluency that can be demonstrated on TOEFL plus a host of other accomplishments at a very high level, then unfortunately I don’t think MIT or Caltech or very viable options for you. And that’s not even considering the financial issue, which is considerable. You need to expand your focus considerably.

Caltech doesn’t offer lots of financial aid to foreign students. How much can you pay per year? Also, you said your English skills are weak. If that’s the case, than there’s very little chance of you getting into Caltech/MIT. I think you should focus on getting into a good college in India. If you can afford to pay around $35k per year, than you could attend an American state school with merit scholarships. You will need a high ACT or SAT score in order to get merit scholarships though.
