High School Student's Hope for the Future

I'm currently a senior in high school with applications out to Emory Univerity (a reach), Furman, Dickinson, Ursinus, Muhlenberg, and I've been accepted to Drew and St. Louis. Does anyone have any opinions on the Pre-Med/Biology programs at these schools or know their med school chances? I wasn't a very serious student in high school and I know I could have done better but I plan to work my ass off in college, permitting my social life doesn't get in the way... I've always had the dream of going to med school at NYU but reality is hitting and I'm beginning to reconsider to maybe something in the Carribean or Mexico. Are these doctors taken seriously? Is there anything you would suggest I do now to start resume building?
Thanks so much.

any doc is taken seriously if u have the grades to show you are good. Dont worry about going to medical school right now though, worry about doing well in your pre meds.

As for my opinions of pre-meds at those schools, im sure they are fine, you can go to any medical school from any undergrad. But why those schools? Like Muhlenberg is kinda middle-of nowhere, and drew is kinda nice, but you really wont get too many research/internship opportunities at major medical facilities at those schools.

I hate to break it to you, but some of these overseas schools have gotten very competitive and the students can score just as high (sometimes higher than) students from American schools. St. George's School of Medicine places at the best residencies.

Emory's bio dept. is highly regarded. I don't know anything about the other schools. Whichever college you end up at, if you're bright and work hard, you can go to medical school.

yup jack hit the nail right on the head...emory is top notch though, i would have loved to go there...except im not a big fan of those humid georgia summers

muhlenberg has a great premed program and med school acceptance rates it's also not that middle of nowhere. you always hear about the "community feel" and i thought it was so corny but after I saw the school I agreed 100%. Drew is local and I recieved a decent scholarship but I think getting out of jersey could do me some good
