<p>You could disagree with me on this, but the High School Summer College program isn't very prestigious. My impression of it is a program for kids with too much money who are buying the "Stanford" name.</p>
<p>It was what you made of it. It's a chance to take some great courses and get a head start on college life. It made me know Stanford was for me. How else can you know if a place fits for you? visiting for a day? a weekend?</p>
<p>Certainly can be a good "enriching" experience, but they're straightforward in saying it won't give you an edge in admissions.</p>
<p>Yeah it's no hook, but doing something productive with your summers helps.</p>
