There have been threads about this issue in years past (one should be able to find them by using the Search function). At one time, the College Board had a notice on its website for schools, telling them they shouldn’t put scores on transcripts.
It seems that a well-placed call by a parent who is a lawyer usually does the trick of removing scores from transcripts (and hopefully helping all students in the future).
Murph and CTTC, you have noted, more articulately than I, what I’ve been trying to get at. My son is applying EA to a number of selective schools and we’re trying to get the minutiae out of the way no so he’s not bumping up against the 11/1 deadline. I’ve emailed the counselor and am waiting on a response. I expect I’ll need to elevate the request. The last thing I want to do is have to cite FERPA. Frankly, other than inconvenience, I don’t see why the school wouldn’t want to assist the student in presenting himself in the most positive light.
