Hi guys, i am an international student applying to colleges in the United States.

I have finished filling out my grades on the CommonApp, but how do i send my high school transcript to the schools i am applying to? Do I just put it in an envelop and send it by myself or does it need to be sent from my high school?

And also, in my country, we have three years of middle school and three years of high school, meaning my 9th grade transcript is seperated from my 10th and 11th grade transcript. Do i send in both of them? Or do i only need the grades from 10th and 11th grade?

thanks!

The person responsible for school records an official copy of your transcript into an envelope, seal it shut, and then sign his or her name across the seal of the envelope so that it would be obvious if the envelope were opened. You can send that letter along with any other paper documents such as copies of letters of recommendation that are similarly sealed by the writers, in one larger package.

You need to contact each of the colleges/universities that you are applying to, and ask if they will require official copies of your 9th grade transcript as well. Some will. Some won’t. You need to ask each of them separately.

Thank you so much for the answer! But if my recommendation letters are to be sent online, do i also need to sent a copy along with my transcripts? thanks again:)

No. If they are submitted online, you don’t need to send hard copies.
