High School Transcripts?

Hi there, I've got a little problem. I've studied all my life in Brazil, and the scoring system is kind of different here. The school doesn't add the GPA in the transcript, they only add each subject's final grades. Is it okay if my counselor adds my calculated GPA on his report, and not on the transcript?
Secondly, the transcript here starts from 1st year of Primary School until senior year of High School, the school doesn't just give the High School transcript. So I could either get official translations of all of my 4 final report cards (from 9th to 12th grade - grades from each trimester) or get an official translation of this whole School Transcript, since Primary (but only final grades). Which do you think is best to send to colleges? Thanks!

Have the last 4 years translated and explain in your application that the entire record is includedin the original transcripts. As for GPA, your counselor can certainly include it in his/her letter.

@xraymancs, do you think it’s absolutely necessary to translate all the 4 detailed final report cards plus entire record? because these things are actually very expensive. to translate 4 report cards would be about US$150. I was think of maybe just sending the entire record, which obviously, includes the final grades for these last 4 years, and is actually cheaper than US$150.

I think xray, is trying to say, send the complete transcript, but only have the last four years (of the complete transcript) translated.

Oh right! Thanks! I’m gonna try and do that, if possible. One translating agency said they could only translate the entire document, not only one part, so as to maintain the “officiality” of it, but another one said they could translate, indeed, only the last 4 years. I think I’m gonna go with that one. Last case scenario, I’ll translate it all, and send it all to colleges. I don’t think they’d mind, would they?
And btw, do you have to send physical copies of the translated document to colleges or just have the counselor upload them to Common App?

It depends on the university whether they want to see the physical transcript. If they do, you might be able to bring that document to the college which you end up attending. Anyway, check with the admission offices.

i don’t see whay a university would even care about any records before high school so your plan to have only the last four years translated should work.
