high school transfer

this might not be the right place to post this but I want to transfer schools and you have to write a letter to the school supervisor and she has to approve the transfer depending on the reasons you want to transfer and they have to be really good. So I'm going to write a letter.to write. Can you guys give tell me if its okay?

Dear field office supervisor,

I would like to transfer schools this year from Churchill High School to my old school, Sherwood High School. I am new to Churchill this year because i moved last summer, and I'm not adjusting very well. I feel that I will do better academically and emotionally if I transfer back to Sherwood. I do not feel comfortable in the environment at Churchill, and it's hard for me to adapt to it. Also, I was familiar with the type of work at Sherwood, but the work is different at Churchill. Furthermore, I feel that I will be happier at Sherwood High School, which will result in my grades improving, whereas at Churchill I am unhappy, which will cause my grades to drop. It is my best interest to switch schools, and i hope you feel the same way. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Any suggestions on how I can improve this letter or is it fine?

Yeah...um def. not the right place. You might have more luck in the high school forum.

I think you need to get more information on the reasons they consider valid. Is this written up somewhere? Otherwise, you or someone (parent, counselor,....) should call and find out what kind of reasons usually get a "yes" and what kind get a "no."

If "kid is unhappy and isn't adjusting well" is usually a reason they approve, then your letter is okay. I suspect that doesn't usually get an approval though (just a guess, really, but it is my suspicion). It might need to be more focused on such things as: doesn't have the classes I need; x class at new school is way ahead of/way behind the equivalent class at old school, so my curriculum is out of sync, .... Those are just guesses too. But if it's really important to you, I don't think you want to be shooting in the dark. You want to know what they're looking for.

Good luck.

Also, I am already starting to do worse. because I had to move from Honors Biology to Regular Biology because I was not doing well. At Sherwood, I was able to keep up my grades in honors classes. Moreover, My English grade last year was an A and it dropped down to a B. As you can see, my grades are not as good as they were at Sherwood. It is my best interest to switch schools, and i hope you feel the same way. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I edited it...is it better. I added how my grades more reasons such as my grades are worse in specific classes in my new school and how they were better at my old school.

It is better. But I still think you should have someone find out what they are looking for. You want to tell them what they want to hear - as long as it truly fits your situation.

You probably only get one chance at this. So - life lesson you will use a lot over the years - do as much research as possible before moving ahead.

Thanks for your help, I'll try to do more research.
