High School Uniform

One of my closest friends is being pressured to transfer to a CATHOLIC SCHOOL. she's close to dying and it's all because she has to wear a uniform.

Do any of your high schools have uniform? if yes, how is it? would you be willing to wear the uniform if your school required you to?

She is about to die from this uniform.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

HOW WILL SHE EVER LIVE? You mean, no designer clothing anymore, no more sunglasses? Oh no, OH, NO!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A HORRIBLE TRAVESTY!

like oh my gosh you are like soooooooooooooooo right!!!!

please. answer the freaking question.

OMG OMG OMG OMG WHAT A DISASTER THIS IS. You know, kids should not have to wear uniforms. This is all George Bush's fault right?

My school has uniforms. I actually really like it, and no one I know minds wearing one. It's just so much easier than having to pick out a different outfit every morning, etc.

I love clothes just as much as the next girl if not more, but wearing a uniform is really not bad at all, I actually prefer it

I've been wearing for a uniform for the past seven years (Catholic school, too). Really, it isn't that bad. You don't have to get up every morning and ponder about what you have to wear. At my school, we have a lot of options, so there's at least 40 different combinations you can choose from. On Fridays, we have an optional free dress day if you have a pass. Seniors get a whole month of free dress in May. I used to think that wearing uniforms wasn't such a good idea because it loses one's individuality and expression, but it isn't my biggest concern when I go to school now.

I wore a uniform/dress code for 12 years of Catholic schooling. You really just get used to it. I wore a school shirt and blue pants from 1-5th grade, a different school shirt and gray pants for 6-8th. And at my high school I had to wear a shirt (any light solid color), tie (whatever), and a blue blazer all day (well the blazer was only from november through march). After a couple weeks, you don't care anymore. And in high school I got a free dress day every week.

I hate uniforms, they all look so damn ugly and i can't seeing 3000 people looking exactly the same, i still can't believe that my school is going to start using uniforms next year, its my f***ing senior year.

I refuse to go to private school because I like my jeans too much.

My school doesn't have uniforms, but I wouldn't have a problem if it did.

I love jeans but i go to Private school not w/ the cute school girl uniforms but the real preppy look THe Polo shirts and the Chinos...It sounds cool but i get boring after a while b/c u can only wear certain colors and u have to tuck in and wear a belt

I would not mind wearing a uniform; just don't make it a white t-shirt with baggy pants, hair done up in one of two styles, and large Nike shoes with white socks. Of course, what i just described is more or less the general uniform of the blacks here, bar one or two shirt styles and colors.

I've never gone to a school that requires a uniform, so I don't know. On one hand, I'd love to not have to worry about what to wear in the mornings. On the other, I love my jeans and crazy jewelry and t-shirts.

I was in a Catholic school with a uniform from kindergarten to eighth grade, and then went to a Catholic high school with a loose dress code. Personally, I would rather have a uniform because it is a pain in the butt trying to find a knee length skirt every morning when all I want to do is sleep. Going to an all girls school with a dress code is nice, though, because everyone can show their style but not wear anything too racy.

Perhaps I am just lazy and don't care about clothes, but uniforms are great. Kind of cute too.

At my school guys have to wear dress pants, a tie, and blazer, and girls wear the same minus the tie, or they can wear a dress but they have to wear heels with dresses. I dont really mind having to wear a tie everyday; i've gotten used to it.

I don't have to wear uniforms, but they converted the dress code and will be in effect probably my senior year (2007-2008). The dress code just consists of wearing khaki pants and a polo shirt. But everyone is going crazy about it because it is a public school and they feel that they shouldn't have to wear uniforms if they don't go to a private school. They are all saying that they are going to switch schools because of the uniforms. I, on the other hand, could care less.

I go to a catholic school also and I hate our uniforms. Blue plated skirts and white banded t-shirts. The uniforms are just beyond horrible. I am sick and tired of wearing them. I cant wait till college when I can dress like a normal human being. But I know some schools have like yellow skirts....ew. As long as your friend isnt stuck in those catholic schools she is fine.

I LOVE my uniform. Ours are actually kinda cute, our skirts are kickpleat and a nice plaid (at the upperclassmen ones are). We can wear any buttondown shirt or turtleneck. I like not having to worry about what I'm going to wear.

I used to hate uniforms but they're actually really great timesavers. It takes like 30min to just choose what I want to wear in the weekends, and i dont think i'd even have the time to do that on school days where I'm always late.

I had to wear uniforms in High School (lol, I loved saying that past tense!). I never minded it myself, but I hated seeing all the attractive ladies wearing the same thing everyday.
