This seems to be a hot topic: "am I going to do as well in college as I am in high school?". As we all know, engineering is difficult. But, not all of us leave high school and fail.
So, list your SAT/graduating high school GPA, and you current college GPA, both cum and engineering-only if possible. I'll start:

School: Virginia Tech
SAT: 1380
HS GPA: 3.6
College GPA (major): 3.22
College GPA (cum): 3.1

Looks like for the most part, the two do correspond pretty well, but this is probably an inaccurate sampling of the general population. Many who don't do well usually won't stay an engineering major, and it's doubtful they would be posting on an engineering major forum.

Hmm... doesn't The Colllege Board have a report on statistics like this though? I could've sworn I saw them at one point. Perhaps relating SAT to collegiate success, but was that specific to majors? Or just a general survey?

generally high school gpa are higher compared to college gpa. SAT scores aren't necessary coorelate to college gpa because for non-native english speakers, their english can improve after they take the SAT and do better in collge. on the other hand, people slack off in college too.

My college GPA is much higher than my high school GPA, my high school was crap.

School: University of Colorado at Colorado Spring (sophomore, junior by credit)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Minors: Physics, Math
SAT: 1120/1600
HS GPA: 2.4/4.0
College GPA (Major): 3.529/4.0
College GPA (Physics Minor): 4.000/4.0
College GPA (Math Minor): 3.933/4.0
College GPA (Overall): 3.804/4.0

HS GPA: 3.67 weighted (ranked in top 25%, very bad IMO)
SAT: old SAT 1300
College: University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (first admitted as general curriculum, currently majoring in computer science)
