High School vs College Engineering GPA

This seems to be a hot topic: "am I going to do as well in college as I am in high school?". As we all know, engineering is difficult. But, not all of us leave high school and fail.
So, list your SAT/graduating high school GPA, and you current college GPA, both cum and engineering-only if possible. I'll start:

School: Virginia Tech
SAT: 1380
HS GPA: 3.6
College GPA (major): 3.22
College GPA (cum): 3.1

School: Cal Poly (4th Year ME)
SAT: 1440
HS GPA: 4.4
College GPA: 3.4

Also include if you are a transfer and separate the GPAs from separate institutions.

School: Georgia Tech (3rd Year EE)
SAT: 1530/1600
HS GPA: 3.5/4.0
College GPA (overall): 3.79/4.0
College GPA (major): 4.0/4.0

School: SDSU, De Anza
SAT: 1190/1600
HS GPA:3.5
SDSU GPA First Year: 3.61
De Anza GPA Second Year: 3.55

Major?.....

Major: EE (Junior year)
School: UC Irvine
SAT: 1350/1600
HS GPA: 3.7
College GPA (overall): 2.92

lol, looks like i'm the only one here who failed.

Does Engineering GPA include math and physics?

School: The Cooper Union, Civil Engineering (4th year)
SAT: 1410/1600
HS GPA: 94/100
College GPA (major): 3.9/4.0
College GPA (overall): 3.5/4.0

School: Florida (EE)
SAT: 1450/1600
HS GPA: 4.3
College GPA (overall): 3.86
College GPA (major): 4.0

major: ECE
current school: U of Maryland
High school gpa: 3.7 / 4.0 or 4.1 weighted
Undergrad: 3.4
grad: 4.0 (so far)

School: Penn State (Freshman)
Major: CS
High school GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1300/1600
College GPA: 3.61 (So Far)

School: U of Michigan (freshman)
Major: EE
High School GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1540/1600
College GPA: 4.0 (so far)

School: SDSU, De Anza
SAT: 1190/1600
HS GPA:3.5
SDSU GPA First Year: 3.61
De Anza GPA Second Year: 3.55

The Major was ME, forgot to add that.

Looks like for the most part, the two do correspond pretty well, but this is probably an inaccurate sampling of the general population. Many who don't do well usually won't stay an engineering major, and it's doubtful they would be posting on an engineering major forum.

Hmm... doesn't The Colllege Board have a report on statistics like this though? I could've sworn I saw them at one point. Perhaps relating SAT to collegiate success, but was that specific to majors? Or just a general survey?

generally high school gpa are higher compared to college gpa. SAT scores aren't necessary coorelate to college gpa because for non-native english speakers, their english can improve after they take the SAT and do better in collge. on the other hand, people slack off in college too.

My college GPA is much higher than my high school GPA, my high school was crap.

School: University of Colorado at Colorado Spring (sophomore, junior by credit)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Minors: Physics, Math
SAT: 1120/1600
HS GPA: 2.4/4.0
College GPA (Major): 3.529/4.0
College GPA (Physics Minor): 4.000/4.0
College GPA (Math Minor): 3.933/4.0
College GPA (Overall): 3.804/4.0

HS GPA: 3.67 weighted (ranked in top 25%, very bad IMO)
SAT: old SAT 1300
College: University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (first admitted as general curriculum, currently majoring in computer science)

College overall GPA: 3.5
Technical GPA: 3.5

HS GPA 2.9
SAT: 1210?
College: Virginia Tech
College GPA 3.43(total and in major)
Major: mechanical engineer

HS GPA: 4.29 weighted, 3.9 unweighted
College: HMC
College GPA: 2.7 :)
Engineering GPA: 3.6

Someone forgot the SAT scores?

1400/1600 SATI
790 MathIIC
800 Physics
800 Chemistry
590 Writing :)
