High School vs. College life

I come from a very very small high school in upstate New York. It's so small it's like everyone knew your breakfast before you even had it! ( get the joke about rumors and gossip)
The colleges I'm applying too are small/median size school's however I feel like college life will be alot more different than high school drama.
One of my fellow peers who graduated in 2013 goes to Colombia Greene Community College, and tells me that drama is at max very very very little. And that's only in a local community college.
I can only imagine what it's like in a small private school, or even a SUNY school?!

From what I’ve read, community colleges tend to have less of a unified community than universities and LACs (especially the latter) do.
But I’m a high school senior taking all my classes at a medium-sized local university, and I’ve seen literally no drama. You don’t have to eat with your classmates or see them outside of class if you don’t want to, and there’s just a lot more space for everyone to do what they want without getting in everyone else’s way.
(There are a lot of non-traditional students, though, and a lot of people commute. I think it could be very different at a small residential college.)
