High School vs. college

hey guys im a sophmore in highschool and i had a big question.
i am in honors and ap classes,a lot of clubs and sports. Honestly lately its a lot of work and not much fun. i have friends and we hang out but with school taking up all morning and having around 3-5 hours of homework its a ton of stress. i like to party but honestly i dont go to many and i can only go out on friday nights really. i was wondering if college life is more "fun" is it a lighter work load at all and do people generally have more fun in the sense of going to more parties having less work and in general having more time for friends, free time activites and fun? (also are people nicer?)

It depends on where you go to school, your major, your involvement in academic and extracurricular activities, and the types of people you hang around. For example, at my school there is actually a pretty diverse social life, some kids seem to go out several times a week, some go out a few times a month, and some don’t go out at all. A very general trend is that people in science and engineering majors go out much less than people majoring in humanities because they often take more difficult schedules and are also less likely to be the type of people who go out a lot (although there are definitely some that do). It also varies by year. I went out much more freshman and sophomore year than I did this year, both because I had a lot of work and was less intererested in going out to big parties like I had before.
Overall, I feel that the work in college is much more enjoyable than in high school and I am able to devote time to seeing friends and a few activities (mainly research). In high school I felt like I was trapped at home studying all the time. I don’t feel this way nearly as much now.
