High School

Who enjoys the competitive ambiance in their High School?
Its so cruel..

i wish my school was competitive…

Well, if my school actually had some, then.. no I wouldn’t enjoy it. There is approximately 525 students in my class. Out of all those, roughly 425 - 450 will go to a community college or technical school. I don’t understand why there aren’t more motivated students in my grade… everyone seems to rather have a social life and push academics to the side…

Competitive ambiance? What competitive ambiance?

Well, I hang out with the smarter people generally, so I guess I could say there’s some semblance of one…

I thrive off it :)

in my school there is probably like 30-45 kids who actually care about more than whose house the party is at this weekend so its not that competitive

its cruel because my school is very competetive and i feel dumb x(

its a hate/love relationship..

i agree with cchscali

i love the feeling of being considered “smart” by people and since my school is half asian, it just makes it even more competitive than ordinary high schools. i kinda like that… it makes me feel…important? no bad word choice

HOWEVER, i wish there were no competitions whatsoever. just me sitting in my high throne of val status…looking down upon everyone else and think to myself, “y’all stupid” LOL. i getting carried away now… and i have two essays/articles to revise and study.

:) Competitive ambiance, no!

We don’t even have any. XD most people at my school will probably go to Community College or CSULB.

My school is as far from competitive as a school could get.

There isn’t anyone who I can compete with. Actually, there is one kid who is near/on my level, but I don’t let that bother me. I love the non-competitive atmosphere.

i hate competitive atmosphere ,
i used to study in a non competitive school , but my new school is very competitive and i dont like it =(

my school had no competition… that was good for me!

Haha competition… that is an unknown word at my school.

90% of our school doesn’t give a crap, BUT the remaining 10% have the air of pitbulls heading to a dogfight. We compete for club offices, for teacher’s pet status, for that extra 2 points above the rest of tests. We are a different species entirely than the other 90%.

Most people at my school are generally competitive, but I hang out with the super-competitive kids. I don’t know if I like the competitiveness but I really like the fact that its okay to be smart.

There is only one other competitive person at my school, but it still really irritates me because this person will stop at nothing (I mean nothing) to get what they want. This is the type of person that will always get a 4.0, and if not, then the grade will be changed to a 4.0 regardless of the circumstance. The power this person holds is tremendous.

I thought my school is pretty easy, but a person I know moved to Texas recently but was up here this weekend and said it’s WAY easier there. Now I’m curious.

rural schools don’t have that problem. “Where do you want to go?” “Hmm…state flagship, state school A or state school B, I can’t decide!”

Competiveness? The top 10% or 12 kids are my bffs so…no. We sit around at lunch and flick food around.
