Hi, How are high schools in Tracy, Brentwood, Manteca, Antioch. Is it good to move from SF Bay area to there? My kids will start high school in fall and they are not A+ or top of the cream. Currently, they will go to American High school in Fremont, Bay Area. How does it affect applying to colleges? Is it worth moving to above mentioned areas for the sake of bigger houses due to remote work for both parents? Please advise.

American is one of the finest public schools in that area. Not sure why you are thinking to move. I’m not aware of other areas you mentioned but if you are seriously thinking about competitions as a reason try Kennedy which is a local move. BTW, I have known several friends kids from American got into great schools for college and graduated. Give it a second thought!!!
Thanks @DadOfJerseyGirl
I only know generic, broad reputations about Brentwood and Antioch, and really nothing about Tracy and Manteca.
Antioch doesn’t have a good reputation, but Brentwood is better. Oakley is supposed to be better, too, I think. There might be some magnets in Antioch, but people don’t have a lot of good things to say about high school. My understanding is that people try to get their kids out of Antioch schools into neighboring schools much more than the other way around.
Many years ago, I was given advice to check out the local grocery store for where I wanted to live. Make sure it has the produce and meat selections you want. Check for cleanliness and make sure you are comfortable shopping there. This same advice can be applied to a school. Pick a school. Check it out. Make sure it offers the range of classes and activities you are seeking. Of the locations you indicate you are looking at, Brentwood has probably the best rated schools.
Checkout Mountain House high school in Tracy. I keep hearing a lot of good things about this school in terms of curriculum, athletics, pathways etc., A couple of our friends moved there for the schools and the neighborhood.
