High SSAT scores in V/R, low in Q

Though I understand that SSAT scores aren’t the only thing schools look at, I was curious if anyone had some insight as to whether or not these scores could hurt my application. I’m applying to a range of schools, but my top choices are Groton, Choate, Miss Porter’s, and Andover.

Verbal - 99%
Reading - 96%
Quantitative - 67%

Overall that puts me at 94%, which is above the average of every school I’m applying to. That math score is really worrying me, though. I understand that this score isn’t the end of times, but I would appreciate any input.

I think it could really hurt you at all of the schools except Ms Porters. People will jump on here and say no no no SSATs are not the only factor but you have to be able to manage a seriously heavy workload and out of range score are going to raise a red flag.

Don’t most every one of the schools have levels of math to accommodate pretty much any student? Starting at Algebra I? This students overal ssat is very good and should not hold her back IMO. If she has some special hook(s) that would certainly help.

@Center I agree that it will raise a red flag. In your opinion, could this score be reconciled by other things? Also, Miss Porter’s has an 87% average on the SSAT, if that does anything to affect your statement.

@MAandMEmom True, but most of these schools still have a high average percentile in math.

Thank you both so much for your advice!

How are your grades in Math? Maybe it would be worthwhile to show this score to your Math teacher, and they could address the discrepancy in their recommendation (assuming that your Math grades are good).
