High test scores, very low GPA

I have a 29 ACT, and 2010 SAT. My GPA, however, will be somewhere between a 3.15 and a 3.2.

What will colleges think of that? I'm obviously not looking ivy league, but will decent schools even consider me?

My collective GPA for the AP classes I've taken is well above a 3.5, but I have a habit of making C's and B's in regular history/enlgish classes, as well as worthless electives. So will colleges see that, and know that I only try when the class actually has merit?

..And, what kind of scholarships am I looking at with my GPA? A 3.5 GPA is often the minimum for scholarships, so...

Maybe they'll think you were lazy or something. Your ACT and SAT scores are good but they aren't that high to be honest. And as far of scholarships, don't except to be getting any academic scholarships unless you're applying to not so great schools.

Some schools will accept you. Try a community college. LOL.

But seriously, there are some decent universities you can get into. It's not all lost hope. :)

i knew someone with a 3.2 and a near perfect score on the SATs and they got into UNC-CH

To the first post, I know my scores aren't that high; that's why I said 'high' and not 'very high,' as I said about my 'very low' GPA.

But I should have a good chance of getting into decent schools, just no chance at scholarships?

I have better SATs and a lower GPA

the GPA has gone up a little this year though

Try places like BU and such, most of their kids have 3.0 GPA's based off CB's statistics and a SAT range that fits in your SATs.

hey dude dont worry bout it.

I just got into northeastern honors program with a 16k scholarship:

GPA: 3.18 - 7 AP's, most rigorous courseload
ACT: 33
SAT: 2080
EC's: Pretty damn good..best one is prolly intern at Harvard Med School

If you do well on standardized tests and have good ec's u should be fine
