High Unit ADq'd CSU to CCC to UC?

Hey All,

Some context:

I started SJSU in 2010 as a Computer Engineering major for 6 years but eventually my anxiety/depression caught up with me and I got academically disqualified.

I recently fell in love with Statistics and have been taking courses (3) at SJSU through Open University and have been doing well in them. However, the re-admit process for SJSU is long and expensive route and I’m looking to attend a CCC to finish any math courses before transferring somewhere else (a UC)

I have about 120 units completed and my GPA has just crossed over the 2.0 mark. All my CSU GEs are completed as well as the math sequence for UC. I currently work on a hardware engineering team (2 years) so I’m hoping this work experience can add on to my chances.

I do want to retake math courses I received a C- in to increase my grades there. Would a semester or two at a CC even allow me to be eligible to be a CC applicant for a UC or am I kind of stuck at SJSU?

Thanks.

Take at look at the link on Page 33 or 34, there is a table for UC’s and high unit transfers:

Also a link for UC transfer GPA by major and campus to help gauge your chances:

You can only repeat a course in which you got a D or F. See http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/q-and-a/repeating/#1

With a GPA of 2.0 or so you chances of ever getting admitted to a UC are something like zero.

Sit down with someone in the academic advising office at SJSU with your question. I think you will find you would need to take lots of extra time if you attend another school. I would focus on your shortest path to a bachelors’ degree.
