high UW with low W GPA?

HELLO!
I'm a rising senior and I STILL have a concern with my GPA.
since I had to take ESL courses in my freshman year, regular classes in my sophomore year, and honors classes in junior year, and finally AP classes in my senior year, both my weighted GPA and class rank are not quite good.

I always had a great hope for Cornell, as well as other colleges, because I thought the admission office would put a great importance in my "upward trend" of academic courses.

I never have gotten below an A-, and my GPA almost skyrocketed each year.
(3.8 -> 4.1 -> 4.73 -> ?) (A 4.0 in regular/ESL , +1 for honors and AP)

What do you guys think about my situation?

I'm also taking the SATs once more(took it 3 times already, got 2170 with 8 on math) because I certainly see the room for an improvement with my better English.

Please give me some valuable insights Cornellians!

i dont believe wgpa matters, since every school calculates it differently.

If you have a 4.0UW GPA you’re in great shape.

As far as college admissions go, a 4.0 UW and 4.1 W is far better than a 3.8UW, 4.6W.

You’re lucky your school adds the same for both AP and Honors. I always thought the norm was to add less for honors than AP.

Either way, for someone who started out ESL, admissions will probably like how much you’ve improved, that’s what your weighted GPA is good for demonstrating.

Freshman (3.8) -

Sophomore (4.1)

US history A

Junior (4.77) -

Senior

haha at my school, that would be a 4.0 UW. we dont differentiate between an A- and an A

^ That’s pretty awesome. My school had a 12 point GPA system - A+ was 12, A was 11, A- was 10, and so on. It just made it that much more competitive…
