I just took the ACT this month for the first time and recieved a 22
-24 on reading
-24 on english
-21 on science
-17 on math

I was wondering If it is reasonable to think i could bring my score up to a 26 or 27. It is what im really pushing for. I was very nervous taking the test for the first time and is it reasonable to belive I can reach those higher scores if I study my Stanford review ACT book and brush up on my math? I think im going to spend some time with a tutor before the april test to brush up on the things I lack on.

You could definitely bring up your score just by improving your science score. Make sure to get the test prep book that is made by the ACT services. All the science problems located in those practice tests, could definitely help you in the science section. As for the other sections, the ACT is more curriculum based than the SATs, so brush up on your trig and grammar.

Yes the more you take it the more relaxed it becomes. DD took it three times mostly because DD forgot her calculator. DD brought up science 6 points. using the book made by the ACT organization.

I myself scored a 22 (on my first try) and by my third I scored a 27. But I had a private tutor, and bought every book there is on ACT. You have to have it, or not. If you don’t, then work your ass of for it.
