Higher Chance of Acceptance?

Emory University has both Emory College and Oxford College. I don't have any preference for which college I want to attend. Although I am leaning toward the Oxford College side just because my test scores/grades/etc fall in the 75% range while my scores and grades in comparison to Emory is around the 25%. So I've shown a lot of interest for Emory so far because it's currently my top choice (even though I'm applying RD because my parents want me to have other options). I know I have a small chance of getting into Emory College and an above average chance of making Oxford. However I want to maximize my chances at acceptance. I heard showing interest is a big thing Emory looks for in admissions. So my question is: Do I have a higher percent chance of acceptance to Oxford if I show interest in Emory as well? Also, how much do 1st semester senior grades matter?

I believe that demonstrated interest in Emory University increases your chances at Emory College of Arts and Sciences and Oxford College. Not sure how much 1st semester grades matter, but just do the best you can.

I was recently accepted ED to Emory University and I understand where your coming from. Trust me I had many of the same questions. Showing interest to any college/university is key in the admissions process. Schools won’t accept someone who seems like they won’t go to that specific college. Your 1st semester senior grades are just as important as all of your previous grades. Having lower grades will negatively affect your chances. If you post some of your scores, classes and activities, I might be able to give you a better idea of your chances.

Alright, you guys still haven’t answered one of my questions: Does applying to both colleges make it seem like I’m more interested rather than applying to one school? On the flip side, how does the level of interest compare if i apply to both rather than just applying to oxford?
I’m gonna do that format people do when they get accepted (which btw, congrats!!)

I do not think Oxford will feel slighted if they hear about your interest in Emory. They know full well that after two years you will be at Emory, and they want you to be happy there as well.

So just applying to oxford would do? thanks!
