I'm applying to most UCs for engineering (not UCB or LA). Since my English and reading scores are higher than my math on my ACT and lower on my SAT, should I submit my SAT only so that it shows I am stronger in math?

ACT:
30 Composite
33 English
30 Math
32 Reading
26 Science

SAT:
630 CR
720 M
680 W

2030 Composite

Submit both. A 2030 = roughly a 30 so it’ll show you’re consistent.

But since they look at your highest score, and they are considered equal, which one would they look at? If they look at ACT they will be like ■■■ why is this kid applying to engineering?

Since they are comparable I would submit the ACT for the reasons you stated.

Does the ACT scores show the weakness in science?

Your scores are fine. My math scores + my science score = lower than those. Still got into UCSD’s engineering school & Berkeley’s College of Chem, if it helps.
