Highest ACT Jump?

^ lol How did that happen? What practice test did you take? Also, what did you do different between the test?

Basically, people put in less effort on practice tests, explaining his discrepancy.

19 my Freshman year
31 my Junior year.

I was a new immigrant with little or no knowledge of English my Freshman year, so that might explain the 12 point jump in a two year time span.

Now hoping to get a 33+ in April.

science is pretty hard to improve on

If you’re talking specific sections, I jumped from a 31 in Science to a 36 from February 12 to March 1. No extra prep. I think I got luckier.

Overall score jumped from 33 to 35 during the same period.

2010 (Soph) -----> 2011 (Jun)
No prep done before either test

English: 33 —> 36
Math: 30 —> 34
Reading: 30 —> 31
Science: 28 —> 30
Composite: 30 —> 33

I account my major improvement (without any prep) to taking the hardest classes possible, as well as just becoming older and more intelligent…

Lol. My best-friend got a 26 on his practice ACT, and a 32 on the March michigan require one. It’s pretty boss!

He probably joke around on the first or simply does better under pressure.

He said he tried his hardest on the practice. He probably is better at pressure, you’re right.

Looking to go from 27 (December) to Mid 30’s on the June test. I believe you can naturally raise these up if you’re focused. I went in cold and got:
29 E
30 R
26 M
24 S
The Reading was really straightforward and I know what I missed. The English, I was expecting like a 35, and I know I can do it. Math, now that I’ve learned most of pre-calculus, I can do the entire test and probably get a 30. As for science, I don’t really know. Last time I thought I was going too slow, and finished early. I’m not sure about how to properly pace myself…

i am not really sure how i did this, especially because for the second time i took the ACT the only prep i did was taking a couple practice tests like three days before the test LOL. i also was not even in precal/trig during my junior year and basically knew none of the trig, so i must have gotten extremely lucky with guessing on the math section

summer of sophomore year (1st try)
composite: 27
E: 32
M: 26
R: 27
S: 23

one year later, summer of junior year (2nd and last try)
composite 32
E: 33
M: 35
R: 32
S: 27

could have scored a 33 if it werent for that damn science section

anyone else?

31- junior year
34- junior year
36- senior year

that science section definitely took some getting used to…

anyone else?

Freshman Year:
E: 31
M: 30
R: 31
S: 29
C: 30

Sophomore:
E: 35
M:35
R: 33
S: 32
C : 34

I jumped from a 24 to 28 between september and December.

^ What did you do to prepare or did you just wing it?

English: 29 –> 34
Math: 23 –> 32
Reading: 27 –> 33
Science: 21 –> 27
Composite: 25 –>32

For math, I studied a lot using the internet. For science I took some practice tests. Didn’t really do that much for english, I think I just got the shaft my first time. And for reading, I pushed myself to read faster and learned to calm the f*** down while taking it.

I think most importantly I just learned to change my whole attitude toward the test. Instead of being intimidated, I approached it with respectable confidence. Calm, cool, and collected :)

^ this is the way to do it

deposition- thank for the reply
