statistically speaking, or just from what you observe at your school, or in general; what is the major with the most people in them, and the opposite.

i was just curious.

here is what i think in general:

most popular major seems to be english.
then biology,
then some sort of business major

least popular in general (collectively speaking from all the school's I've visited)

physics
math
engineering.

i probably titled this wrong, sorry

Political Science, Biology, and English are the statistically most popular majors at my college.

In my class, bio is the most popular. Religious studies is the least popular (I think there are like, 4 or 5 in the entire school).

Actually I think I read somewhere that psychology is the most popular major?

at my school it’s engineering and biology.

Most popular at my college:

English
Math
Psychology

Least popular:

Physics
Computer Science
Foreign languages

I am attending a small liberal arts college. It is interesting that math is one of our most popular majors while the hard sciences are fighting for survival. The ultimate proof that math is not a science?

Most popular:
-HOD (it’s like applied psych for businesses)
-Bio/chem (pre-med)
-Foreign language, as a double major

Least popular:
-Physics
-CS/CompE
-Anything in music

I’m not sure where to find the info on least popular majors but Maryland’s most popular majors are "Business, Engineering, Journalism, Architecture, Education, Criminology, Government & Politics, Computer Science and Psychology. "

The Common Data Set and other publications of the institutional research department contain statistics on the distribution of majors.

(Business) Econ, Communication, Poly Sci, and Psychology.

I’m too lazy to google Common Data Set :|

Haha yeah I googled it later, but I was too lazy to post it on here after

Bio is probably the most popular major.

Not sure of what is least popular but we have a very small number of students in biophysics. :P
