I know what type of law I might like to practice but still, as a matter of practicality, I want to know what type of lawyers receive the highest salary (do any make as much as a radiologist?- something I am also considering)

Thanks

Don't go into law for the money, you'll probably regret it.

to your question, I'm seeing radiologists starting around 230k.

Lawyers in a top big law firm start at around 140-160k I believe. You usually have to go to a T14 school or be a total star if you come from somewhere worse/go to a regional powerhouse. The difference though is that to be a radiologist you have to go to med school (4 years) and then do the residency which would be 5 more years. Law school takes 3.

Now ultimately, if you can do things like make partner I think you do indeed have the potential to make more than a radiologist, the issue is whether you'd want to make partner. It takes a lot of devotion on your part to do so, and sometimes even then -- you don't make partner.

Understand this page - http://www.law.yale.edu/outside/html/Career_Development/cdo-billable.htm also consider the fact that if/when you make partner you may have to work even more hours.

Either way -- each path will require you to devote a lot of time, effort, and hard work. I think it's important to first find what you're more passionate about because that should be the most important issue.

In the long run, if you're lucky, movie/tv/sports agents seem to be where the money is.

Thanks everyone!
