Hey everyone. I'm applying to a few colleges that have the policy "Highest section scores across test dates." I've read tons of CC threads about it but I'm still a bit confused. I know what it is and that another name of it is "superscore," but I don't understand the technicalities of it. I am hoping that you all can help clear it up for me.

1) This is essential a form of Score Choice, right? Like for the SAT I, I would only have to send the test dates when I had the highest scores in each section.

2) This policy applies to SAT IIs as well, correct? So I wouldn't have to send in all my SAT IIs but only my best ones?

3) I don't want to make more versions of the Common App to distinguish between colleges that use Score Choice and ones that don't regarding the self-reporting test section. I know the Common App has spaces where you write all the times you took the SAT I, then your highest SAT I section scores. It also has space for your best scores in two subject tests. SO -- if I used Score Choice, the only thing that would give the fact that I took more SAT I tests away is that there would be more dates for the part that says when I took the SAT I. (My best section scores from the SAT I are all from one test date.) This would be fine, right?

In other words, my official College Board SAT I score reports will not have results from all of the dates that I list in the Common App. Is this okay (as long as the college allows Score Choice)?

Sorry for the long post...I just want to report my scores as accurately as I can. I'm trying to send my scores tonight/tomorrow, so fast responses are really appreciated! Thank you!

Yes.

2) This policy applies to SAT IIs as well, correct? So I wouldn’t have to send in all my SAT IIs but only my best ones?

Yes, you can choose which subject test score to send by single SUBJECT TEST, even if you took 2+ on the same day.

Since you’re only sending in your SAT I score from ONE SITTING, just select that test date and no other SAT I test dates when sending official score reports.

Yes, the only way colleges would know you took SAT I more than once is by looking at the Common App, where you must indicate up to 3 test dates on which you’ve taken the SAT.

Glad to help-I just sent out my reports yesterday :D

Wow RainbowSprinkles - thank you so much for your quick and clear response. I really appreciate it! Good luck with your colleges :)
