Not sure how valid this comment from another post is. All ABET-accredited engineering programs are going to offer the required courses for a particular major. As for why anybody would go to other schools within a state system - depending on the state and the schools, they’ll go to where they are accepted. For example, here in NC the flagship - UNC-Chapel Hill - does not have an engineering school. So students seeking to major in engineering target NC State. However, State can only accept so many students per year. Which means there are plenty of students who are very capable of mastering an engineering curriculum but who don’t get accepted into NC State who instead go to UNC Charlotte, Greensboro, NC A&T or other schools and manage to obtain internships and find good jobs upon graduation.
