Highschool precalc?

How difficult is Highschool precalc? I have a hard time understanding math at points, so I’m iffy on if I should take the course. I’m already taking AP Stat next year, so I’m debating whether or not I should add in precalc. Thanks!

It really depends on the school.

In my school, it’s light years easier than Algebra II & Trig.

At my school the “smart but not so smart” kids to AP statistics (it was an easy A AP course), while the kids who could handle it (I say this because out of my class of 25, I was the only A, there was 2 B’s, 6 C’s, and the rest well yeah) took precal. But schools very with classes. Tbh think about it this way. Which one will help you most with your major? If you’re STEM then definitely take precalculus and don’t even worry about AP stats if you can’t fit both. But if you don’t need calculus than don’t worry about precal and just take stats

I found pre-calc to be basically like taking Algebra 2 again (although my Algebra 2 was a little different so). I would take it and just do your best, ask questions, do the homework, and work hard.

If you do not take precalculus in high school, you may have to take it as a remedial course in college to meet the college’s general education requirements or if you choose a major that requires precalculus or calculus.
