HILD2A or CHEM6A

Hi I was just wondering if I could get some quick advice about a class choice dilema I was having.

So for my first quarter at UCSD as a freshman I've decided to take

Math 20A
Warren Writing A
Psych60 Intro to Stats

and either
Chem6A or HILD2A

I am really unsure of which to pick.
But I got a 5 on AP Chem, so technically i am exempt from taking Chem 6A. On the other hand my course recomendation stated that I should probably take Chem 6BH during winter quarter if my major requires chemistry, which it does. If i'm taking 6BH next quarter why not just take 6A.

Any input or help would be appreciated.

thanks

If you take Chem 6A you wont receive any credit. However If you take HILD you can satisfy your GE for your college.

As dtang said, there’s no point in taking 6A other than to review the material to make sure you don’t start off 6B on the wrong foot. Of course, you could just use your month of Winter Break to do this.

As for HILD 2A, its a really straightforward class that requires a moderate bit of reading (which many don’t do, but that’s not the point). Just make sure you manage your time well since Warren Writing might have you pulling your hair out depending on your TA.

if you got a 5 you are exempt from 6ABC and cant take them for credit.

If youre afraid of overwhelming yourself first quarter take the GE and next quarter start on ochem (Chem 140A)
