Hilgard Houses- what's it like?

hi. I'm going to be new at UCLA from this fall, and got assigned to Hilgard House, which was my third choice.
I've been browsing through a lot of places on the internet, but I can't find much information on the Hilgard Houses. Can anyone please tell me what it's like living there?
I wanted to live on-campus, cuz I'm worried about the safety, and also about missing all the convenience on campus:(

I know only transfers and international students live there, but someone please answer my question!! thanx!

Hilgard is wehre UCLA's located.

How can a freshman get placed into the Hilgard Houses?

I suspect that the OP is a transfer because, yeah, there are no freshman at Hilgard.

And I haven't experienced it first hand, but I was offered Hilgard (I knew I was going to live off campus but thought I'd apply to see if I could tolerate what they offered). It depends on what you got placed in. A double room in Hilgard might not be so bad, but a 6 (or is it 8?) person room would not be something I'd want to do. I didn't like it because I'm not so much of a communal living person and I didn't like the idea of sharing a kitchen/bathrooms/living rooms with lots and lots of people. But socially it's probably really cool.

Hilgard is still very close to campus and because it's communal you'll still have the same social benefits of living on campus. Just..with less privacy. Which kinda sucks.

But it will be safe and it's still convenient to campus, just from the other side (which, really, is closer to classes. so that's good). Also, you're closer to Westwood, so that's good, too.

I'm a transfer. Thanks for your help:)

hilgard sounds cool...but they have those multiple persons rooms (6-8 people I hear) which sounds kinda meh...
