I'm having my interview soon for admission. What are they like and how should I prepare?

Do you want a full breakdown on suggested body language / communication / human interaction ? jk

The most important question you should be prepared to answer is why you want to come to Hillsdale. Are you having it on campus?

Yup, in a week!

Here’s a link to a few typical questions.

A few more that I might ask:
What do you expect to get out of your college education?
What other schools are you applying to and why?
How have you prepared for this interview?
What do you know about this school?

And here’s a link to a checklist. The thank you note is a very nice touch.

Good luck next week. Let us know how it goes.

I was asked, first and foremost, why I wanted to attend Hillsdale College. After answering that one, I blanked for an unknown amount of time, but seem to remember the questions, “If you could have lunch with any well-known figure, who would it be and why?”, and “If you were in a position of power in this country, what would be the first domestic issue you would tackle?”

One question I think they asked of my son was if he knew about and understood the Mission Statement. Apparently, they do place a lot of store in it, even though most other colleges do not.

Liberty as distinguished from license… uhh… man, it was SO much easier back in '02 :-P

Just got my acceptance letter today :D

Congratulations MegBows!!! Are you going to go to Hillsdale? Still making up your mind?

Almost definitely going! :D

Congratulations MegBows! There is no place like Hillsdale! Tell your parents to save their money so they can go to Parents Weekend. It’s a great time (right Momoftwins?)!
