I didn't get to see hillside when I went on a tour at jmu and I only got to see the village but the thing I liked about the village is how open if felt and how many windows there were so it seemed bright and happy. As an incoming freshman I feel like hall style will be better than suite style since I'll meet more people that way but then a lot of people say suite style is better. But does hillside have nice dorms and a lot of windows where it feels open like the village? And which one would be better for freshman who want to make close friends and meet a lot of people.

I lived in a Bluestone this year, but I think that Hillside dorms are better than Village dorms. Reason being is that there is air-conditioning in Hillside, which helps a LOT first semester when it is blazing hot.

You’ll meet a lot of people either way. However, if you don’t like your suitemates in the Village, it wouldn’t be the same as not liking your hallmates because you are so much closer in a suite.
