Hindsight...

I don't know if there are any current Cornellians or alum are still on here, but I am curious.

Are you happy with choosing Cornell? What did you find to be the best thing about it? What about the worst?

There are plenty of current Cornellians on here. As much as I complain about Cornell, I doubt I'd be happier any where else. The worst things, in no particular order

1) If you're not into drinking, it makes it harder to socialize, but it's not impossible.
2) The weather obviously.
3) Stress from classes, work, studying, etc.
4) The food is good, but you might get sick of eating the same stuff every day.

I graduated from high school in 1972 and attended Cornell...I wasn't perfect and neither was Cornell but my son graduated this past weekend and my daughter will be starting this August...so something must be right about the school...

I just graduated this past weekend so I guess I'm an alumnus now. I agree with tun on the things I dislike about Cornell. But in retrospect, I had a lot of fun at Cornell, got good grades, and feel like Cornell has provided me with a ton of opportunities. Not sure what else you can expect from a school.

it depends on what you like in a school, and what kind of environment you thrive in. cornell just happens to fit me quite well. and so i'm happy that i chose cornell. of course there are times that i wish i had gone to yale or something because they don't have to work so hard with all the grade inflation, but that's only right before a prelim or final. it's all good.

i don't agree with the first statement made by tun. if you're not into drinking, then you will socialize with people who are also not into drinking. i'd say the campus is about half half in terms of people who drink and people who don't.

i also happen to like the weather. there's nothing like walking up the hill on a brisk and snowy winter morning. ahh.

the best thing about cornell...hmm...probably the variety. the number of choices. i'm not just talking about classes, but also the people. and the food. and living conditions. and clubs and organizations. there's really everything. oh, and it's really pretty here. the sky is very blue and the sunsets are very colorful. and having waterfalls right on campus is nice.

the worst about cornell. i would say the lack of housing. it's not fun when your friends live all over the place after freshmen year.

I love cornell. My 1 thing is that if you aren't from New York/New Jersey there are a lot of them here...you get used to it though.
