is it true taht getting invitations for orientation/tours/special days/ scholorships from colleges help ur admission rate?

i got emails from UCSB and i got accepted, but from UCLA and UCSD all i got was that they recieved my apps-> i gott rejected?

anyone happen to them also?

for UCSB i got invited to the chancellor's reception, although they said it "does NOT reflect your admissions" the chancellor told us that we had been accepted to UCSB!!
so im guessing it does help, kinda, but i wouldn't count on it, UNTIL you get the official email or letter.

anyone else think so too?

Other than being offered a scholarship, those do not help your admissions. It's no different than them sending an information packet about the university regardless of your stats.

Case in point: Don't assume what their decisions will be until they actually say it on writing.

Nope. Not even regents is a definite. A few UCLA Regents got rejected this year.

^Frick that's worse than a clean rejection.
