Anyone know if receiving lots of e-mails lately on financial aid and Emory in general is a good sign an acceptance may be coming or does everyone get these? Any hints from previous students who were accepted we should be looking out for? Does Emory send e-mails or letters to notify of admissions decision?

Haha, I think all the applicant receive those. Not sure though, it can be a “sign”. I remember being this “punctilious” during the application process. I was looking for hints here and there, I got some, missed others, but looking back I couldn’t really tell much from this little “signs.” Just have fun, try not to stress to much.

I first place you will see admission decision is on OPUS. The snail mail will arrive few days later.

You are right…stop stressing. Hard to be patient. At least deadlines are coming soon and all decisions will be out for most schools. I know I am starting to go a little stir crazy when I am now looking for any little hint.

I got an email from an admissions person asking for my transcripts for dual enrollment and I was thinking the same thing because obviously they wouldn’t be taking the time out if they weren’t interested especially since it was an actual person and not just an automated response… but I might just be being fanatical… April 1st can’t come soon enough.

I wouldn’t read too much into these things.

@floridaa: Those are supposed to be part of the application, so they probably just wanted them to complete your application.

My counselor told me that Emory was “very interested” in me, but she did not say how she knew. Anyway, they send me financial aid information almost everyday. I feel like they wouldn’t do this to EVERY applicant. Why would the financial aid office bother to send every applicant information about their financial aid application so frequently this late in the game if the applicant hasn’t been accepted or waitlisted? This is just my guess…
I’m trying to not get my hopes up because I don’t want to receive an unpleasant surprise on March 30th = / but I am trying to look for signs. lol. Hopefully this is one.

whoknows123- What kind of financial aide info are they sending? I got a notice from the Emory financial aide department last week stating they received my application and it stated how they can be of assistance to me and how to find out who my financial aide counselor is. I too feel like that is a sign that they may be interested unless everyone gets that letter who applied for financial aide. I haven’t heard anymore this week thus far.

I got that letter also, and a bunch of emails about missing FA info (the same item for all of them). I’ve also been getting a lot of “Experience Atlanta”, “Hello From and Emory Freshman”, and “Emory University Spirit” emails lately.
Hopefully it’s a good sign :)

now you make me worry even more…

AmbersTars, I received the same emails. Hopefully thats a good sign!

i don’t want to exactly get everyone’s hopes up, but as an applicant i also received these emails and i talked to some friends who also did. needless to say we were all accepted. but take that as a grain of salt!

Well I received all these e-mails and I was accepted! However, there is a boy at my school that is an URM and he claims he received several notifications. He wasn’t notified of his admission decision 2 days ago… judging by that he probably was waitlisted/rejected.

I received those types of e-mails and I was accepted along with the other URM’s! Best of luck!!!

how hard is it to get into oxford college with an sat score of 1930 and unweighted gpa of 3.4?

I got a few of those emails. Most of them are about what Emory has to offer and the opportunities awaiting me etc… after I applied.

Thought if I didn’t get in it’d be funny to send it back to the admissions office and ask why they sent them just to reject me lol

just checked I got three:
Subjects:

Experience atlanta - mar 5
University spirit - feb 17
Hello from an Emory Freshman - feb 10
(didnt apply for financial aid so didnt get a letter about that.
anyone else wanna compare letters and dates and see if there a is a trend… nothing else to do while we wait haha

i got all those emails and Financial aid emails too, but I didn’t apply to emory and only oxford

Yeah I hate to be a downer, but I’m pretty sure the majority of these emails have absolutely nothing to do with our admission chances because everyone seems to be receiving them. The fin aid emails were sent because we had information missing and the other ones are just to pique our interest. Having said that, I am just as nervous/excited as the next guy. Good luck err’body! :D

I received all those emails too! I hope that bodes well for all of us!

They send those emails to everyone.
