Hispanic, Good Hook I Guess

Yea, I'm applying to Yale just for the sake of applying to Yale.

"Regardless of all that I'm still an URM. Just not an impoverished one"... lol i love that quote, it fits me too :)

then you're not a 'true' urm, i think top schools these days don't look merely at your race but also your financial and social situations. if you're not brought up in harsh conditions where your parents work 24/7 trying to support you and your 7+ siblings then i dont see the point of giving you a urm status. i have quite a few asian friends whose parents are true immigrants and that's what i'd considered 'true' urm's.

btw your stats look good but not that impressive for many of you choices.

Here's how I see it:

Vanderbilt- 80% in
Claremont McKenna- 55% in
Yale- 15% in
Rice- 35% in
Georgetown- 35% in
UMD- 95% in
Williams- 30% in
Middlebury-40% in
Boston College- 70% in

how exactly are you "technically" first generation when your mother went to georgetown?

She came to the United States for college.

I thought first-generation meant that neither parent went to college.
