Hispanic looking at Stanford, Cornell, Princeton! Help?

<p>I'm looking for my chances at Stanford, Princeton and Cornell (they're my top three schools); I'm also applying to UT Austin, VT, UVA, University of Miami (Florida), Cooper Union, and Cal Poly. I would really appreciate it if you chanced me!</p>

<p>I'm a senior attending a magnet high school in Virginia. All of my high school classes have been honors level or above. I'm interested in studying architecture at Cornell; applied EA to Stanford and will apply RD at Princeton and Cornell. I had a good interview with a Stanford alumni.</p>

<p>State: Virginia
Ethnicity: Hispanic/Latino
GPA: 4.2 weighted (my school doesn't do unweighted, ballpark is around 3.8)
My high school does not rank because we are a magnet high school for gifted students. My class has 178 students.</p>

<p>Tests:
ACT: Math 30, Science 33, English 35, Reading 34, Composite 33
SAT: 800 CR, 680 M, 750 W, compositel 2230
SAT2: Math II - 670,
US History - 760
(retaking math and taking Physics this weekend)
APs: Spanish Language - 4
US History - 5
US Government - 5</p>

AP Macro/Micro Economics
Calculus 201 (college course, equivalent to 2nd semester of BC Calc)
AP Physics C (mechanics and electromagnetism)

Art 5 (highest level at my high school)

<p>Extracurriculars:
Art Club - President
National Art Honor Society - President - We work a lot in the community to get artists and galleries in contact with the students and school, we bring numerous artists into the school to teach workshops for students.
Italian Club/NHS - President
Varsity Cross Country and Track all year, from August to May
Mentorship - I just finished working 60 combined hours at a local architecture firm where I worked on building renderings, observed client meetings, did building programming, etc. I am now at a different, multinational architecture firm's office where I'm doing much of the same. I get time during the school day to go work at the firm, I'm basically an intern.

<p>I'm taking some of the most challenging courses at my school, and I took my first college calculus class last year (it was the equivalent of AB Calc). Throughout my time in high school I've completed all years through AP in Spanish and two years of Italian (all my school offers, wish I could take more).</p>

<p>I think that my teachers will write very good recommendations for me.</p>

<p>I'm also a national merit semifinalist (PSAT 222), and I'm hoping for Finalist status come February.</p>

<p>Academically, you are fine. You will be among a few top NHRP scholars who are also NMSFs. Math is slightly weak (ACT math 30, SAT math below 700, SAT Subject Math II below 700). If your essays dazzle you could do well. Certainly, retaking Math II will help, if you think you can add another 100 points to your score. Otherwise, leave it alone. You do no want it dropping below 680, at this point.</p>

<p>You have a hook with your ethnicity, so whtat will significantly increase your chances. Your application seems flawless, good academics, good, test scores, good Ecs. A huge number of applicants that apply to these top schools, however, have perfect applications too. You have a very good chance, but in the end, I think it will come down to your essays. Stanford and Princeton are reaches (As they are for everyone) and I think Cornell is a high match. The rest you should be fine in. Good luck!</p>
