not trying to troll, but Im kinda curious

Im gonna keep it short and sweet...

-Hispanic male, Junior
-SAT: 800 M, 800 CR, 680 W (all in 2nd time taking it)
-SAT II's - Math II and Physics taken yesterday
-Cum. GPA: b/n 3.8 and 3.9 on normal scale (no crazy weight or anything)
-Soccer (club + school, all 4 seasons) all 4 years (varsity 2), probably captain senior year
-Some other volunteering EC's and misc. jobs
-Very hard class schedule, 3 AP's soph. , 4 AP's Jun. , ? Sen.
-Great recs
-history of interest in engineering

Basically...what are my chances at top engineering schools, I'm not gonna make a list... (Ivies, MIT, Stanford(?)) ?

MIT is huge on affirmative action, so I'd say you have an incredibly good chance, and a very good chance at everywhere else since you have good socres and a URM status.

You're in. Congrats :D

Yea, you're in at nearly every school.

Anything else I should improve on, however? How do colleges look at awards like those for the National Latin Exam, those AP awards, and the National Hispanic Recognition Program (which I have been nominated for)? And also, what would you say look like target / reach schools at this point? Carnegie Mellon? UIUC? Any others?

He is most definitely not IN. You have a much better chance than most, but you really need to provide more information.

Take the SAT again to see if you can get a higher score on writing.

Do a more orientated EC. Try an internship at Intel for example, if you're interested in engineering.

I think it's a good chance for MIT if you work on your EC's. Your test scores and GPA look good :)
