You would have great chance if you have good SAT II and ACT/SAT scores.ACT 30 is not enough, but try again!
Harvard is a reach for every body, but it’s worth a shot if you have better test score.

@auntbea @conservativearts@paul2752 I am taking the ACT in december which will be in time for ED 2 and RD at Vandy and Rice. Thanks for the feedback!

Based on another sites accepted percentages, and based on your current stats, you have a 31% change of getting into Vanderbilt, a 23% chance of getting into Harvard and 27% chance of getting into Rice. Honestly, the percentages are all higher than the chances I would have given you based on your current stats. You have solid ECs and being an AP Scholar with distinction is impressive, but your ACT score (30) will need to improve significantly (into the 33+ range) for you to have any real chance at Rice or Vanderbilt. Personally, even with a higher ACT score, I don’t think you have any chance to get into Harvard unless I missing something significant in your EC’s. If those are your dream schools you should certainly apply–it can’t hurt, but I would encourage you to apply to a few safety schools as well. Wake Forest is test score optional, and you will be a URM. It is a beautiful campus and has excellent academics. I think you have an excellent chance of getting into Wake. Good luck!

@Nataliame, With a 34 ACT and 3.79/4.0 GPA based on the percentages available on another site, your chances for getting into Vanderbilt become 65%, Harvard 50% and Rice 57%.

@Nataliame1 - Did you take AP tests for all those AP classes? If so, how did you do? With a relatively low ACT and no SAT IIs, good AP results could swing the balance in your favor. Am I right in assuming the ACT is with writing and you are planning to retake?

You have solid everything so I’d say that as long as you get an act score of 33ish when you retake it i’d say you will have great success in getting into some pretty great schools!

@paul2752, I did not say I agreed with the 50%. It is simply the percentage assigned based on other applicants who applied and who were accepted with a 34 ACT and 3.79 GPA. In my first post I told the OP that I did not think she had any chance of getting into Harvard (even with a 34+ ACT) unless I missed something significant in regard to her EC’s; but I also said that if those are her dream schools there was no harm in applying as long as she also had realistic and solid safety schools. I hope the OP does apply to Harvard, Rice and Vanderbilt if those are her dream schools–I would not want her to go through her life wondering “what if”.

@doresearch I just realized I had a typo in my post oh no! It probably won’t make a gigantic diff. but my UW GPA is 3.97 not 3.79. Even then, this was released from my junior year so hasnt been updated. Sorry!

@Nataliame the change in your GPA significantly impacts your chances for the schools you listed–as long as you can improve your ACT score into the 34+ range. Based on 3.97 uw GPA and a 34 on the ACT your chances are as follows based on the other site: Harvard 70% (but you will have to really sell your EC’s. I would highlight the “Founder” of Taco Crew". Your chances drop to 60% for Harvard if you ACT score is a 33. Rice 80% and Vanderbilt 84% with a 34 ACT.

Best of luck!! Please let me know how it works out.

@paul2752@doresearch@noaheve2482@auntbea Hey guys! Just an update, I got accepted and Duke and Rice, and didn’t end up applying to Harvard after I went to visit it. If you could take a look and leave your response on my Rice VS Duke thread, I would greatly appreciate it! I’m so torn between the two
