I am not economically disadvantages (income=~$80K).

Essays: one extremely strong about my heritage, one strong about my father, and one decent about French...Recs: 2 glowing, 1 decent.

I speak Spanish at home, smooth French, and rough Italian.

I want to go to Princeton b/c I am attracted to its ORFE major and certificate policy. I like the fact that it places emphasis on undergraduate education. I think undergrad research is a unique opportunity. And finally, it has the name.

Your evaluation is greatly appreciated

Hey man ive got similar stats to you (1500+ SAT, good SAT IIs, good recs etc etc)

people have said im a sure shot because URM + 1500 SAT = PWNAGE

if youre applying early, I say youre in

if you apply regular, i say youre 75-80%

i should change my race to hispanic. :p

courteously bows

GREAT APP. Outstanding candidate. Good Luck Man, Hope you get in, let me know if you do. If you dont get in ED, I think ull definitely get in RD

bump........

i think you've got a great chance!! (=even if ure rejected at EA, they'll take u at RD)
does pton take your combined SAT score? or does it only take the highest sitting? is it the same for other ivies?

You certainly look very promising. Btw, I don't know how "economically disadvantaged" is defined in an Ivy milieu. Unless $80K is your personal income, you are likely to be eligible for financial aid. I seem to remember reading that the average -- or was it the median? -- family income at Princeton was around $150,000.

I know I will qualify for financial aid. I mentioned my economic situation to show that we are not poor URM's. I don't know if the economic status if URM's are also taken into account.

hello there

bump please

ValdezVivasMR - are you the same guy as Martin Valdez (the one who posted about his oppressive parents and who said he was never posting on CC again)?

No--although that is my name, lol. that guy got his name from some spanish soap opera character (the fact that he chose my exact same name is purely coincidental). Quite on the contrary, my parents have not moved one finger to help me with my applications (except for financial aid forms). In fact, they dont want me to go to princeton b/c it will cost them a hefty amount of $$$.

Well, I think you stand a shot. And a Pton education is really worth it. Plus there is aid without loans, I'm sure they'll help you if you need it.

bump . . .

Good chance.

And 80K income and above will still net you a lot of financial aid.

bump please

how predictable...it's like clockwork, about every 4-6 days or so....

am i supposed to appreciate your sarcasm?

Aww, c'mon ;) I was teasing, Valdez. You've got to admit it's sort of funny...I don't think anyone has a chances thread as long-running...
