Hist + Econ

I'm transfering under the history major, however I'm thinking about doubling up with an econ major as well. I will have all my hist pre-reqs done by my enrollment at a UC and was wondering a few things:

1) Will I be allowed to choose econ as a double major even though I transferred into the school under History?

2) Is econ part of business school? I mean will I prevented from doing this because I don't have the grades to get into UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCD bus schools (assuming they have them)

3) If I end up going to UCD/UCSB will majoring in econ really help at all? I heard good financial institutions don't recruit at these schools and it is much harder to get a job unless u go to a ucb/ucla type school.

**Just submitted my app today, let the waiting begin...

1) yes you should be able to double major when you get to the school, but you might have to talk to the department or be entered into a pre-major status, until you complete all the required pre-major classes.

I don't really know much about econ majors at their respective schools so I can't really answer #2 and #3.

Best of luck with your application, I still have to submit mine :(
