Historical Acceptance Rate for those not given automatic admission?

A related question: does the acceptance rate that appears when you search it on Google (about 46%) take into account students that received automatic admission or not? If so, how much more selective is UT after giving automatic admission to everyone that qualifies?

The be a longhorn website says that stat is including auto-admits–I’m not finding any specific numbers, but I do think (?) the % of not top 7/8/10/?! % admits is significantly smaller. Additionally, “The University is to automatically admit enough students to fill 75% of available Texas resident spaces” and “after automatically admitting eligible Texas applicants each year, the university fills any remaining spaces in the freshman class through holistic review.” Hope that helps a little!

I remember reading somewhere that 75% is for auto accept and 10% is for out of state. if you are curious if you can get in, however, I think you’re pretty much in regardless of being auto accepted or not. I saw your stats, and your test score and gpa will get you in.

The admissions person we talked to said UT accepts around 14% of review applicants. The 75% are the Texas auto-admits. The remaining 25% will be mainly Texas kids but with OOS and internationals too.

And I agree. Based on your stats you have a great chance.
