historical essay?

How do you begin or go about writing an essay that you pretend that you are having an interview with a prominent leader from the past? Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

please help. bump

I would start by describing the physical features of the person then lead it into the person talking. Then go from there.

would it be like an interview format? eg: "So what are your favorite pastimes?" Other person:" Well I like to blah blah blah."

It could be whatever format you like. It could be just a list of questions, it could be questions and responses, hell, the other guy could hog the entire discussion and not let you get a word in. That wouldn't really get your voice across though, lol ;)

if i were you i'd open it off by describing his physical features (as another person suggested) and then tying it into the power of their presence. for example....

He looked truly proud and majestic in his full uniform, medals gleaming on his jacket, the red armbad with his glorious insignia, the proud yet small mustache perched in the center above his lips. His presence was commanding; just gazing upon his form i felt a desire to salute and shout his name.

if u were doing abe lincoln talk baout how he felt like someone u could trust, etc. from their you could clear you throat and nervously ask a question and begin the interview
