On the Stanford Supplement, it asks "What historical moment or event do you with you could have witnessed?" Do you think it would be bad if I had something like "the miracles performed by Jesus Christ" as my answer? I think Jesus Christ is accepted as a historical figure (like, regardless of Christ's relation to religion around the world, most people agree that he did live). But some people might dispute the occurrence of the miracles- what do you think?

I’m not religious, but I personally think it’d be freaking neat to see a person actually do the kind of stuff that Jesus was allegedly capable of.

If you’re going to use it for a reason that you don’t have to be religious to understand, I’d maybe use it, but be very careful in how you present it.
I wouldn’t use it if you want to see his miracles for a reason that only a Christian would understand. You’ll step on too many athiest toes and evoke responses like the one that indianmonster expressed.

Okay yeah, that’s more what I was going for. Regardless of my (or anyone else’s) religious views, I think it’d be cool to see what Christ did, assuming he did it. If a guy started doing that today, I’d still wanna see it. So you think as long as I make my reasons for wanting to see it clear, it’d be okay?

I am sorry but I really do not like it. and its not the fact of me not being a christian but the topic CANNOT be written in such a small prompt without taking a side. Its really tough to go so deep into a topic in such a short space without looking cheesy and stupid. I would recommend you doing something simpler.

It prolly is just me, but my first reaction to seeing such a line makes me want to reject it straight off. Sorry about that

I wish I could have witnessed the miracles performed by Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. His alleged miracles fascinate me, and to observe these phenomena and see if they can be explained by modern science has always been something I imagined.

I’m not trying to be argumentative or anything, but I feel like this doesn’t bring in anything about religion. I don’t think this is really taking sides either- I don’t express my beliefs regarding Jesus Christ, unless saying that he performed miracles counts as that.

What do you think? Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it.

Alright, I guess I’ll find something else. It would be more appropriate to select a historical event of some importance, right? Rather than, say, a really intense Olympic table tennis match from the 1962 Olympics?

i would certainly believe that going with the pingpoing would be much more conservative than the JC. but it’s just 2 lines, so don’t overthink it too much.
