Computers are as of yet incapable of being smart. It would be better to say that it is the fastest/most complex/best programmed to emulate human intelligence/something like that.

You have to realize the complexity of this computer. It truly is a breakthrough. Interpreting the Jeopardy questions are a challenge in itself. The puns and play of words, analogies and even figuring out what the question is asking is a very big challenge

It tied with Brad (the guy to win the most amount of money in Jeopardy history)at $5,000. and Jen (the guy that won most games in Jeopardy history)was left in the dust at about $2,200

It actually has a database of IMDB, Wikipedia, Tons of historical documents, the bible and tons of other websites. But it does not have internet access. You all should watch the documentary. It shows how just googling for the answer will not cut it

I say we kill it before it subjects us to a life where we are subservient to robots, serving them oil and whatnot. It’s only a matter of time before Watson kills Trebek. I saw the look in its eyes after than “No, Ken said that” comment. There was bloodlust in those circutboards. I could sense it.

That Beatles category was great. I said out loud “Now if only there was a Harry Potter category” literally about ten seconds before one of the answers was “Who is Voldemort?”.
