I know UCSC is close to the sea coast, and they have good programs of marine science and bio science. But how about their history major? Is the social science programs at UCSC as good as the natural science programs?
Let me break this down for you. You’re wanting to invest time in the present, to study the past, to change the future? Meanwhile you’d be spending money in the present to burden your future. Think about it. For the price they’re asking you to pay to attend there you need a marketable major. At the very least pick something that’s not history or anthropology. Choose something else or you’re going to regret your decision because no company that actually serves a purpose recruits history majors.
Some people like to pick majors they actually like than care about finding one that pays a bunch of money. I’m a history major and there’s no way I’d ever change it because I love it!
As for the question I got accepted as well and I don’t know much about their history program which I should probably look into, but I’m sure it’s great. I do wish some schools would focus more on social sciences rather than STEM majors all the time.
Yes but there are people who aren’t so lucky. There are people, like me, who have to take out loans to attend college! So we pick something that will provide a good ROI and is fun. For me, that was business. Loving something is one thing but I guarantee that once they graduate people are going to want a good job to afford to have fun. I support some of the social sciences : just not history.
