It's fairly obvious you need to have quite the in-depth awards, stats, ECs in their 'Nice" area for dmissions into selective colleges.
For math students there is USAMO, for science. Siemens etc. MITES etc.etc.
How about history? Any notable internships programs etc to get involved through the school year?</p>

<p>Wow, I have to exact same question. If you are more of a humanities person, there are several writing competitions in existence. However, I haven’t been able to find anything relevant to history either:/</p>
<p>Go to your town’s historical society or the equivalent. Work there.</p>
<p>Quiz bowl. </p>
<p>Start a history club at your school. </p>
<p>I’ve seen history writing competitions (many fuse in current events/politics). Look harder. I just did a quick google search and found three contests open to you.</p>
<p>Work for local political campaigns? Your work will be history the next day.</p>
